Valentines at Yelverton Brook

With Valentines month is the month of Romance check out our packages on offer to help make your stay just a little more memorial and also the great Leeuwin Concert weekend, just remember when planning your dates as the Margaret River wine region is usually fully booked for this weekend. About 5-6,000 people attend the 2 concerts held at Leeuwin Estate Winery on the Sat & Sun evening. The Sunday concert is usually easier to book.

Our Western Ringtailed Possums that have come to live at Yelverton Brook appear to be doing well and all have finished their soft release program and found new homes in the local trees hollows. We have put extra water supplies in close trees using self-waterers hanging in the trees is held in place with straps and rubber bands. Ordinary rubber bands were perishing quickly so Vacola rubber bands are now used as seem to be doing better.

These are very special native wildlife and are on the endangered native species list of Australia.

So if you are wandering the woods and see these strange white & green plastic things up in the trees you will know what they are there for.

There is also a small stainless steel holder for a little apple as a special treat. Some times the ants find it first so it pays to put the apple out latter in the afternoon to early evening to beat the ants.
